The Rivers Come Alive

So all you Ducks and Drakes and Swans,
‘Tis time you swam away.
The boys and girls are back in town,
And boats now have the right of way.

The Covid plague has forced us on
to land for far too long.
Now racing can’t be far away.
The swish of boats and catch of oars
We have not heard for far too long.
And those of us who’re now too old
To hold an oar but can instead a glass consume
And reminisce of days long gone and feats of old
When Ducks and Drakes and Swans their place did know.
