While Rotsee in Lucerne, Switzerland, a week ago held a competition called “The Regatta of Death”, that is the World Rowing Final Olympic Qualification Regatta (where you either got your ticket to Tokyo, or you did not), the rowers are back on Rotsee, which is now called the “Lake of Gods”, for the second round of World Rowing Cup.
Cup II starts today and will end on Sunday 23 May.
You will find an article whom to watch on Rotsee here. And an article how to follow the regatta is here.
On 4 May, HTBS wrote that the Organising Committee (OC) for the Masters Regatta in Linz-Ottensheim and World Rowing had postponed the decision date for the event due to the Austrian Government, who would announce new guidelines on staging mass participation sporting events on 15 May. The World Rowing Executive Committee has now confirmed that the regatta will take place in Linz-Ottensheim, Austria, from 1 to 5 September. Read more here.
If you feel the need to peek in the World Rowing Rule Book, there is now an app for that. World Rowing just announced the launching of a free app that includes the World Rowing Statutes, Rules of Racing and related Bye-Laws and Appendices. “Once downloaded,” World Rowing writes on its website, “it will enable you to access and consult the content everywhere at any time, also offline.” Get your free app here.
