The other day, Chris Hartley, chairman of the Organising Committee of the King’s Cup, contacted HTBS to ask for some help to give the King’s Cup Photography Competition a push. Of course, we are more than happy to comply for such a wonderful project.

At this year’s Henley Royal Regatta, a new King’s Cup was set up to celebrate and remember that it was 100 years since the 1919 Royal Henley Peace Regatta. ‘In 2019 eight allies fittest and finest produced some extraordinary racing against a backdrop of military and Henley Royal Regatta pageantry,’ it states on the King’s Cup website. It goes on saying: ‘To fully record the occasion a photographic competition is being held, inviting contributions from all photographers including military and amateurs alike. Send us that brilliant iPhone shot!’

You enter the competition by submitting your photographs to photocomp@kingscup.org by 30 September 2019. Entry is FREE and you may send in as many pictures as you like. As there are six categories (and one grand prize), you must outline which of the categories you are entering. Include a brief description and background for each entry.

You will find further details here.

Good Luck!
