Here follows chapter 6 of “The Seven Seat: A True Story of Rowing, Redemption, and Revenge”, Dan Boyne’s tale about his rowing and sculling days in the 1970s at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, a series published on Row2K’s website.
In this chapter, “Heavies vs. Lights”, winter training has begun and Dan and the other rowers are out for team runs. At one of these runs, Dan is accompanied by a lightweight with the nickname Wean, who is a good runner – though he has a weird mantra that he blurts out while running…
