Training for Doggett’s?

A card from the Victorian era, a time when the 25th December holiday was (inexplicably) linked with Christmas.
A card from the Victorian era.

All the contributors to ‘Hear The Boat Sing’ (HTBS) hope that the readers have the holiday and the new year that they wish for.

Let us end the year with a caption competition. Take a look at the image above. Contributor Tim Koch, who sent in the image, starts with:

‘No paws at the catch’.

Send in your captions to HTBS editor: gbuckhorn@gmail.com or write them in a comment below. Captions for the competition should have been received by 31 December 2015 at the latest.

One lucky winner will receive a signed copy of HTBS editor Göran R Buckhorn’s A Yank at Cambridge – B.H. Howell: The Forgotten Champion, which was published in June 2015, and a signed copy of HTBS contributor Philip Kuepper’s A Sea To Row By, which will be out during the first week of January 2016. This is Philip’s debut collection with 40 rowing poems.
