On 21 of April, HTBS wrote that Marist University in Poughkeepsie, New York, will be holding a Rowing History Symposium and Exhibit Opening on 15 August.

John F. Ansley, PhD, Director, Archives and Special Collections at Marist University, tells HTBS that there is now a link ready to register for this event (see below). Ansley writes that it will be an afternoon dedicated to the past, present, and future of rowing history.

The program opens with a keynote by Bill Miller, who will present The Great International University Boat Race. A panel discussion follows, featuring leading voices in the field, including Miller and 1956 Olympic champion Bill Becklean – on where rowing history stands today and where it’s headed.

The day concludes with an exhibit opening and Archives & Special Collections open house, showcasing materials from the Thomas E. Weil Jr. Rowing History Collection.

Light refreshments will be provided.
