Hello fellow rowing book lovers! Thanks for the great recommendations also in your previous posts. Is anybody aware of a comprehensive list of rowing books? I actually do have fun in searching for them in various stores, places and websites, but if there was one (searchable) list, I’ll take it… Happy new year with a lot of reading & rowing!
Hello Jürgen, while it’s a cumbersome way, you will find rowing books mentioned under the header “rowing books” on HTBS. On rowing historian Bill Miller’s eminent website http://www.rowinghistory.net another historian, Tom Weil, has listed a long list of old books, from the beginning of rowing as a sport up until 1929. This list is from Frederick Brittain’s OAR, SCULL AND RUDDER (1930). You will find Tom’s list here: https://www.rowinghistory.net/resources/rowing-book-list
Good luck, Jürgen!
Hi fellow rowing enthusiasts, thanks a lot for the link, very cool. You have definitely won another follower of your blog and I look forward to your rowing book recomendations! Greetings and keep on the good work. Juergen
Thank you, Jürgen, and welcome aboard!
All the best,
Göran, editor, HTBS
