World Championships will take place in Račice in September

16 May 2022

The World Rowing Executive Committee and the Organising Committee (OC) have confirmed that the 2022 World Rowing Championships will take place in Račice, Czech Republic, on 18-25 September 2022.

The OC will prepare a COVID-19 Response Plan that will outline all preventative measures to be undertaken in line with guidance from World Rowing and the local public health authorities. The plan will be published online on www.rowingracice.com.

It is each member federation responsibility to exercise maximum care for its team members before, during and after the regatta. All participants must follow the measures in the OC COVID-19 Response Plan at all times.

“To protect the health of all participants, anyone not adhering to the participation conditions may, at the discretion of the World Rowing Executive Committee, face sanctions, including possible immediate disqualification and exclusion from the event,” World Rowing wrote in a statement.

World Rowing and the OC will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and the latest public health recommendations.

The regatta in Račice in September will be the first World Championships since 2019, as both the championships in 2020 and 2021 were cancelled due to COVID-19.
