This website covers all aspects of the rich history of rowing, as a sport, culture phenomena, a life style, and a necessary element to keep your wit and stay sane.
Mohamed (“Moe”) Sbihi was Team GB’s male flag bearer for Friday’s opening ceremony in Tokyo. Part of the men’s eight, Mohamed is the first member of an ethnic minority to have this honour. Previous British oarsmen who did this role were Jack Beresford (1936), Steve Redgrave (1992 and 1996) and Matthew Pinsent (2000). Picture: @BritishRowing

The Olympic Regatta begins today, Friday. The best timetable is on the official site. On it, Japan time can be changed to match your local computer time and the results are constantly updated. The finals run from Tuesday, 27 July, to Friday, 30 July.
Only discovered HTBS earlier this year & really look forward to 6.00.am. each morning. There’s always something new & interesting & starts the day well. If you take the Radio Times, do look at the Rowing icon for the Olympic timetable, they are both rowing on bow side! Thank goodness whoever produced that is not in charge of Team GB. Anne Stapleton.
