By Philip Kuepper
The totora reed boats, rowed,
on Lake Titicaca, gravitate
to Isla del Sol, and Isla de la Luna,
on which were born, on sacred rocks,
the sun, and the moon, myths
the Incas hold close to their hearts,
isles, like souls
of day, of night,
dwelling in the center of the eye
of water, from which sprung
the whole of creation.
