Ralf-Peter Stumme is sending some news from Germany.
Not only are all rowing events – big and small – cancelled in Germany, but in many parts of the country, like North-Rhine-Guestphalia, which is where I live, all clubs will close tomorrow morning at least until 19 of April. The rowing clubs in Austria are already closed.
The cartoon above shows the announced cancellation of the ‘Anrudern’, which means the ‘Opening of the Boating Season’ event in my hometown. In ‘better times’, or do I dare to call them, ‘normal times’, more than 100 rowers are rowing a distance of 22 kilometers that day, and then the crews parade in front of the boathouses.
Hopefully, we will be able to do that a little later this spring.
