‘The Gay and Lesbian Rowing Federation (GLRF) started in 2003,’ says Executive Director Brian Todd, who has a vendor’s booth at the World Rowing Masters Regatta in Velence.
‘We now have 1,678 members in 43 countries. The online organisation is open to everyone in the rowing community and registration/membership is free of charge.’
Via the organisation, you can both connect with members in your own country as well as make international contacts.
GLRF also hands out a sticker for making a stand in your boathouse.
‘The sticker has an immediate effect in setting the tone for the boathouse, indicating that the boat bay, the coach’s office, the changing room, supports inclusion and acceptance. Put a sticker on some of your own stuff and tell others that you support inclusion and acceptance,’ Todd says.
Homosexuality is today illegal in 72 countries but not in Hungary.
