European Universities Rowing Championships in Jönköping, Sweden, ended on Saturday, Kenneth Alfelt writes.
Rowers from 21 countries and 81 universities competed in 11 boat classes for men and nine boat classes for women on a 1,810-metre long course on Lake Munksjön in the city centre of Jönköping, Sweden.
The regatta was well received by the rowers as can be seen in a video posted on Facebook by Sveriges Akademiska Idrottsförbund (Sweden’s Academic Sports Federation).
The audience could watch when two Swedish boats from University of Jönköping took two medals – Eskil Borg and Filip Nilsson won the gold medal in the men’s double sculls and Eskil Borg also took a bronze in the men’s single sculls.
A list of the results in the A and B finals can be found here.
The championships were organised by the marketing agency Destination Jönköping, City of Jönköping, University of Jönköping and the local rowing clubs in Jönköping and Huskvarna.
