Dad’s Army on the Water: The Upper Thames Patrol

Historian Bill King will give a talk about the formation of the waterborne Home Guard of the River Thames during World War II at the River and Rowing Museum in Henley-on-Thames on 25 September 2019 at 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

You will learn of the formation of the waterborne Home Guard of the River Thames and the development of this unique element of the Home Guard. This part of the Home Guard was emphasised on the Thames from Maidenhead to Lechlade.

Also women were involved in the Thames patrol.
