HTBS editor spots an alligator.
The other day, when I was on my way to Sarasota and WRMR2018, I wrote about the alligators in Florida. Although there are 1.3 million of them around in all the Florida counties, I was not expecting to see one during my visit in Sarasota! No, no, it wasn’t on the lake at Nathan Benderson Park, instead it was smack in the middle of the city.
My Swedish friends, who are rowing at WRMR2018, and I went to a very nice fish restaurant called Owen’s Fish Camp. On the menu that evening they had a special dish that they seldom have on the menu, a $6 starter – ‘gator on a stick!
Of course, I had to try it. It was surprisingly well-tasting, like sweet chicken meat.
I couldn’t help feeling satisfied. Instead of me ending up as alligator food, here I had a piece of one on the plate in front of me.

Bisto,
you sound as though you are having far too much fun ‘down Florida way’.
