HTBS editor tries to report from a shaky wifi from Sarasota-Bradenton, Florida.

To file reports from the 2018 World Rowing Master Regatta held in Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota-Bradenton is not easy if your computer is not working. However, a good computer at the hotel might do the tricky if it wasn’t that the wifi is a little shaky – it must be the heat. Right now it’s 93 F (34 C).

So, 367 clubs from 48 nations have gathered to race and take medals here in Sarasota. There are 2,920 entries on almost 9,000 seats. FISA reports that 18 of the rowers are 80 years or older. Oldest is Odilon Maia Martins of Brazil, who is 89 years young. Bravo Mr Martins! But watch out for the heat!

Go to www.worldrowing.com to check out race schedules, results, news and photographs. HTBS will try to share reports. Fingers crossed!
