Louis Petrin, of Drummoyne Rowing Club from Downunder, writes:
As rowing in Europe and North America gets hard with the cold weather, DownUnder we are getting ready for X-mas in our zooties (Australian for unisuit or all-in-one).
Rowing NSW hosts the annual Reindeer Regatta which marks the transition of summer rowing until after the Christmas holidays.
First introduced in 2011 after the name was chosen in a popular vote, the Reindeer Regatta has become a celebration of the fun side of rowing. Costumes, tinsel, Santa and even the occasional spotting of Rudy the Reindeer define the festive spirit of the day.
Best wishes to all HTBS readers from Downunder!
