Like thick sea grass waving,
lazily, to and fro,
just beneath the surface of Mystic River,
appeared a vast school of blues,
herded, suddenly!, comically!,
by a cormorant popping up
from beneath the water,
causing the blues gather
into an ever tightening
school, uncertain
of the cormorant’s intentions,
who swam close past them,
and, then, away!,
seeming to have satisfied his curiosity,
as to why
they were in session.
