HTBS’s editor Göran R Buckhorn writes:

In writing this, since March 2009, ‘Hear The Boat Sing’ (HTBS) has published more than 2,000 posts on the rich history of rowing – as a matter of fact, this is the 2,004th entry on HTBS.

Beginning today, HTBS has added an Instagram account to our social media network in an attempt to reach a larger audience that is interested in rowing. Instagram will allow HTBS to share images and maybe videos, and as rowing is a visual sport, Instagram has proven to be a perfect social media platform for this purpose to say the least.

The first ‘batch’ of images on HTBS’s Instagram contains 15 photographs of famous scullers, take a look at www.instagram.com/heartheboatsing/

It is our intention to frequently add images to Instagram, but not necessarily on a thematic basis.

HTBS also has a Twitter account at @boatsing
