On 25 December HTBS announced a Caption Competition for an old Victorian Holiday card with a coxed ‘dog four’. The HTBS readers thought well and hard and soon entries came in, either in the Comment Section or via e-mail to HTBS editor. When the competition ended on 31 December, 14 people had sent in 25 entries. Thank you all very much for your entries!

During Sunday, the four-person strong jury sent in their verdict and counting together the points (1st place got 5 points; 2nd place got 3 points; and 3rd place got 1 point) it stood clear that the winner was:

Richard Anderson, with 8 points, and the caption: ‘You’re going well – I can sniff the next crew now’.

Then we had three people sharing the second place, with 5 points each:

Tom Weil: ‘Four more and we’ll qualify for the K-9 event.’

James Sciales: ‘Which one of you lads took the bow ball?’

John Wiggins:
Number off from bow……
Bow,
Wow,
Bow,
Wow!

Richard will receive a signed copy of Göran R Buckhorn’s A Yank at Cambridge and Philip Watson Kuepper’s A Sea To Row By, the later will be out any day now.

Tom, James and John will receive a signed copy of one of the mentioned books above. Gentlemen please contact HTBS editor at gbuckhorn – at – gmail – dot – com with information about your address and which book you would like to receive, thank you.
