As HTBS reported in May, a German film about Karl Adam’s boys in the boat of 1960 will be released in September.
Anyone interested in Olympic rowing history knows that Coach Karl Adam and his eight from Ratzeburg won the Olympic gold medal in Rome in 1960. Not only did Adam’s eight put a stop to the Americans’ winning streak, which had started in 1920, the U.S. boat didn’t even make the medal podium at the Rome Games.

The film, Adams Acht (“Adam’s Eight”; Beta Cinema brough the film to the Cannes Film Festival in May with the title The Rome Eight) will come up in the movie theatres in Germany in September; some sources say 10 September and others say 17 September. There are even some sources saying that it has already reached some movie theatres. Any readers who can confirm this?
Here is a trailer of the film in German:
There is no information yet when Adams Acht will be shown in theatres in Britain and the USA or on any of the available streaming services.
