I could not stay for the prize-giving but the regatta has posted some very nice professional photographs of the presentations on their Flickr account.
KSRV Njord, winners of the all Dutch final of Academic 4-, treated the assembly to their club song. Picture: HWR.Wycliffe College, winners of Junior 4x, capture some shots for their “socials”. Picture: HWR.Imogen Grant with the George Innes Cup for championship single sculls. Picture: HWR.
At the prize-giving, HWR chairman Naomi Ashcroft said: The quality of rowing over all three days has been exceptional and reflects the depth of talent now embedded in women’s rowing. The fiercely contested racing demonstrates how hard earned a HWR medal is. Henley Women’s Regatta continues to be a celebration of women’s rowing.
Tom Morgan has his always reliable take on the regatta in Junior Rowing News.
Thank you, Tim, once again for your coverage of HWR – and all your other posts. Could I use that photo of Imogen for a talk I will be doing at Trinity in September, please?
Yes, of course Jane. I am not precious about my pictures if they are used to promote rowing and rowing history. Not that only the picture in Part 1 is mine.
