Dan Boyne Sees a Beautiful View from Trinity Chapel

16 April 2018

Göran R Buckhorn writes:

Here follows chapter 14 of “The Seven Seat: A True Story of Rowing, Redemption, and Revenge”, Dan Boyne’s tale about his rowing and sculling days in the 1970s at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, a series published on Row2K’s website.

In this chapter, “The Stern Pair”, Dan Boyne and Peter Tyson form the stern pair in the crew. They are great friends, but they always disagree about stroke ratings – if they should ever go over 36 or not. They sometimes go on excursions around Trinity campus. One night, Peter shows up at Dan’s door and propose that they should climb the Trinity Chapel, which offers a spectacular view of Hartford and beyond. The 30-foot climb is, however, not for the faint-hearted.
