The National Rowing Foundation, NRF, reports on its website that Lindsay Shoop has retired from the US National Team. To take Shoop’s place as a Frank Shields Fellow, the NRF has appointed Taylor Ritzel, who was in the US women’s eight which won a gold medal at the World Championships in New Zealand in 2010. NRF’s web site writes, “We are confident that Taylor’s drive, enthusiasm and positive attitude will help the NRF achieve great things as the US Team prepares for the 2012 London Olympic Games.”
