By Göran R Buckhorn

HTBS editor Göran R Buckhorn has counted the numbers for 2025.

In 2025, HTBS had 247,466 page views (down 11% from 2024) and 117,129 visitors (down 15% from 2024).

Looking at other stats for 2025, HTBS published 277 posts. Most page views had “Home page/Archives”, followed by these 10 articles:

Last year, seven of the Top Ten articles had a connection to “The Boys in the Boat”, the book or the movie. Not so during 2025.

Which countries did the readers come from in 2025? Here is a list of the Top Ten countries by page views:

United Kingdom – 107,895
United States –  78,158
Australia – 10,379
Germany –  6,894
China – 5,661
Ireland – 5,232
Canada – 4,414
Netherlands – 3,066
France – 2,807
Sweden – 2,111

To compare to 2024, China and Sweden were among the 2025 Top Ten countries pushing out New Zealand and Italy.

Further looking at the stats for countries which have had people reading HTBS articles in 2025, besides the 10 countries mentioned above, 175 countries, regions and territories visited HTBS. However, it should be noted that 17 of the 175 “countries” only visited HTBS once, among them were Syria, Somalia, Equatorial Guinea, Bhutan and Mongolia – not much rowing going on there.

The last post of 2025 was the 5,226th post since we started in 2009, and since the start we have had a total of 3,747,875 views.

My warm thanks to the 2025 HTBS contributors and others, who, one way or the other, kept HTBS going. They were: Mark Blandford-Baker, Ingrid Buckhorn, Greg Denieffe, Chris Dodd, Carlos Dominguez, Lauren Hughes, Aaron I. Jackson, Edward H. Jones, Tim Koch, Philip Kuepper, Bill Lanouette, Ben Lowings, Peter Mallory, Bill Miller, William O’Chee, Stephan Ploke, Henry Reichhold, Hélène Rémond, the late Adrian Stokes, Teresa Stokes, Ralf-Peter Stumme, Thomas Wigley, Peter Williams and Matthias Zander.

Special thanks to Mrs. B. who has supported HTBS with her technical skills since the start. Without her, you would be looking at a blank screen right now.

I hope that you HTBS readers and contributors will have a good and healthy 2026, and that you will continue to follow us and write for HTBS during the new year.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
