Their tempers visibly frayed,
faces, accordions of angers,
two rowers rowed,
over what wasn’t clear.
At one point their hands
curled into fists,
their row about to come to blows,
until a peacemaker appeared,
and suggested they curl their fists
around oars,
and let rowing decide
the outcome of their row.
