Where Rivers Narrow

1 September 2019

By Philip Kuepper

Where rivers narrow they appear
great liquid sculls,
oars of sunlight lying
along their slender banks,
waiting for who to row?
The rivers flow. The sculls
are set in motion.  Oars
of sunlight move them out,
slowly.  Who rows them,
the transcendent Eye,
seeing them into motion
with a clarity of insight.
