Here follows chapter 4 of “The Seven Seat: A True Story of Rowing, Redemption, and Revenge”, Dan Boyne’s tale about his rowing and sculling days in the 1970s at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, a series published on Row2K’s website.

In this chapter, The Recalcitrant Coxswain”, Dan finds himself rowing in the Head of the Charles. With a mile to go, Dan’s Trinity crew is just ahead of Cornell and Columbia. Soon the coxes in these boats demand the Trinity boat to move over.
