‘Some of the best racing so far went on today in the first round of semifinals at the 2017 World Rowing Championships in Sarasota-Bradenton,’ Worldrowing (FISA) writes on its website. ‘Athletes knew that a top three finish was absolutely necessary as this would get them into the final. It was not unusual for fourth-place to miss out by a fraction of a second.’
