The Straits tossed
the gay boat about
on its wind-torn current,
the gay boat like a laughing
child at play on the waves,
making it to shore, safely,
its rosy painted sides
like cheeks flushed with exertion.
The Straits glowering,
and turning on themselves,
were devoured by storm.
