Rowing, to her,
was as natural
as walking,
oars, her feet,
the water more stable
than earth. Rowing
brought her to being
one with herself, one
with the very air
through which she rowed.
All dissolved around her.
Rowing, she could leave behind
the daily baggage of getting
from A to Z.
Rowing, she became
sensation itself.
