The New Yorker might not be as great a magazine as it used to be, but it’s still a very good magazine, and there are always some interesting articles in every issue. However, in the current issue, which arrived in my post box two days ago, it was not a special article that caught my eye, instead it was an advertisement for a book. We here at HTBS love this book, and yes, of course it’s The Boys in the Boat by Daniel James Brown I am referring to, which seems to have hit home both among rowers and non-rowers.
The advertisement from publisher Penguin (Random House) announces that 1 million copies have been sold, which must be a record for a ‘rowing book’. HTBS takes off our hats to salute Daniel Brown!
