Before Steve Redgrave there was Jack Beresford.

HTBS’s Tim Koch was invited to the home of John Beresford, Jack Beresford’s son, to look at Jack’s medals and trophies and take photographs of Jack’s photo albums which have pictures of Jack during his successful rowing career, which includes five medals at five Olympic Games, seven Wingfield Sculls victories, ten Henley triumphs and two Philadelphia Gold Cup wins.

In six articles published between 3 December 2025 and 2 January 2026, Tim showcases Jack’s life on land and water. As the articles have been spread out during a month’s time, we wanted to give our readers a chance to see them again, in a more collected way.
