How About a Blazer for Christmas?

HTBS Types! It’s time to think of Christmas.

Earlier this year rower Jenifer Andersen came out with a handy, little book called Rowing Club Colours: The Guide to Blazers and Oars. This spiral-bound book has clear and simple graphics, which show more than 120 blazers, handily arranged by colour, so you can easily identify the club blazers at Henley Royal Regatta.

The foreword is written by the Chairman of Henley Royal Regatta, Richard Phelps, known as the man with many blazers.

In June, Tim Koch wrote an enthusiastic review of the book explaining how to use Jenifer’s guide:

To find what club a blazer belongs to, look down the coloured tabs (solid and striped) on the side of each page. Thus, a blazer with a red base colour will be either Lady Margaret BC, Westminster School BC, Emmanuel BC, Harvard University, Kingston Grammar School BC, Kingston RC, Churchill College BC, Exeter College BC or Great Marlow School BC.

Tim continued:

There are pages to identify blade colours and also the three letter club codes that every British rowing club must display on their boats. Further, there are handy summaries of the world’s major regattas, a guide to rowing jargon and an explanation of boat categories. Finally, the guide is peppered with fun and informative facts.

Jenifer Andersen tells HTBS that Tim’s review helped to kickstart the sales of the book and that it sold out at the Regatta in Henley.

Jenifer says that she welcomes customers from the USA – after all, some of the blazers featured in the book are from U.S. universities – though she recognises that sending books across the pond has become a nightmare. However, as Jenifer is going to be in New York in the beginning of this month, she offers HTBS readers a special discount of 20% between 1 and 10 November. For the Americans the cost of postage will be lower, and the parcel is safer to reach it destination.

It’s an excellent present to put in that stocking hanging over that mantelpiece on Christmas Day!

The discount is of course valid for all orders wherever they come from, so not just from the USA.

Jenifer says that HTBS Types can get signed or dedicated copies. Just get in touch via Jenifer’s website with your requests quoting your order number.
