Time to sign up for the last of the HOSR Committee 50 Story Hour for the year.
At the zoom event we learn about the history and future of the Philadelphia Girls’ Rowing Club. The clubhouse, located at 14 Kelly Drive on historic Boathouse Row in Philadelphia, was built in 1861. As the earliest of the surviving Boathouse Row structures, it serves to anchor the other houses strung along the banks. The house has the distinction of symbolizing both the history of the sport of rowing as well as the place of women in a predominantly male sport.
Register here in advance.
After registering, you will be sent an email with Zoom credentials. All are welcome!
The Story Hours are dedicated to recording the history of rowing in Philadelphia and around the world and finding a means to institutionalize a collective archive of rowing documents and materials. Be sure to check out recordings of prior Story Hours on the 50 Stories webpage!
