Barber’s
“Adagio for Strings,”
Brahms’s,
“Allegro giocoso,” Symphony No. 4,
Chopin’s,
“Etude in C minor, Op. 10,”
these, to my ears,
are pure poems,
these, shells,
being rowed in pure smoothness
on the river of unbroken verse,
each one colored
its own hue of hum,
unequaled.
