O! Captain, my Captain,
arow across Walden Pond,
fishes for the Over Soul,
fishes for the White Whale;
rows Hester away from Dimsdale,
rows Hester away from Hetty Sorrel,
to living life as a single parent,
while from the pond’s depths harps
the Bard of Amherst her spirit songs.
